What we do

Elevate has so many events and opportunities to work out and be involved throughout each semester. So much goes on that it can seem a little overwhelming, but the club's officers are here to help anyone with questions on how to be an Elevate girl and get the best experience possible. Our goal is to give our girls plenty of chances to grow and learn, body, mind and soul. A summary of what goes on each week has been included to better explain who we are and what we offer to our members....

Our most popular feature is the hosting of main events every Wednesday night, during which time all of our members are encouraged to come and try out a new workout with us! Main events are either led by a member of the exec team or, more commonly, by a volunteer fitness instructor who is generous enough to donate their time and efforts to give us a sample of their local studio's workouts. In the past, we have worked with many local studios in the Baton Rouge area, trying out so many different types of ways to be strong and stay fit, including Geaux Crossfit, Yoga Rouge (hot yoga), Yoglates (pilates + hot yoga), UFC (kickboxing), Krav Maga (self defense), Airseekers (acro yoga), belly dancing, Zumba, Street Beats, Refit (all dance workouts), and so much more! Wednesday main events may also include "wellness events," during which time the exec team hosts a short seminar on important issues that college women regularly face. In the past, such wellness events have included everything from nutrition, personal safety, eating disorder and mental health awareness, stress management, goal setting, and more.

In order to give our members a relaxed space in which to get to know each other and socialize, we host multiple socials throughout each semester, and these events can range from hiking trips, to movie nights, and everything in between. We also connect girls to various volunteer opportunities in the community, to help them get involved with causes that matter.

Finally, we offer several ways for our members to stay active and connected within our Elevate community. Besides offering custom fitness gear for purchase, we also provide graduation stoles for all of our qualifying, graduating seniors. What's more, we have a club spotify, a super-secret Facebook group for our members to share and interact, and all members are encouraged to create a "fitstagram" account to connect with each other and to share their fitness journey.

Each member's Elevate experience is unique, and our organization is very much what you make of it. No event is mandatory, so some members pop in for an occasional workout once or twice a week, which is great! Since we have workout sessions almost every day of the week, some members enjoy using every opportunity to work out with us and try new things, and that's great too! The important thing is that we are here when members need us, and that we have tons of options for working out and connecting with other members over the course of the semester.
